Alien Isolation Hacked to Support Oculus Rift

Upon release, Alien Isolation was dubbed as one of the freakiest game of the year. This first person survival game features programed artificial intelligence aliens that will hunt down humans based on sight, sound, and smell. Imagine running down a pitch dark corridor in an abandoned spacecraft then shining your flashlight on a Facehugger. As if Alien Isolation isn't scary enough, fans have hacked the game so you can play it in a virtual reality environment.

Once you put on the Oculus Rift headgear, there's nowhere to hide. Programmers have incorporated head tilting as part of the game play options. Don't be surprised to see more games supporting VR platforms in the near future.

Totem Virtual Reality Headset with Forward Facing Camera

Totem is a Virtual Reality headset that is very unique from other VR goggles. It features an integrated graphics processor that can be paired with a standard HDMI signal to display high resolution 3D movies and games.

What set Totem apart from other VR headsets is the dual front facing cameras that can display the real world at the switch of a button. That means users will not have to take off the goggles when they have to see the real world surroundings. This technology opens up the possibility of augmented reality in a virtual reality environment. Check out Totem VR Kickstarter campaign. For a pledge of $450 you can get your hands on a pair.
